CraveUp Instant Mobile Websites - Beta Launch!

Over the past several months we've been working closely with and learning a lot from our friends in the local business community.  Our goal has been to understand what's working, what's painful, and to catch a glimpse of what the future could hold when it comes to social media and mobile marketing for local businesses.  As part of this, we wanted to take a moment to share some of the insights we've gained:

  • Facebook really can be efficient way of both acquiring new customers and maintaining a relationship with existing ones for local businesses
  • Finding the time or even remembering to post regularly can be extremely challenging
  • It's easy to see that customers are becoming increasingly mobile, but businesses can't typically afford custom development on their website to create a mobile version, or find the time to manage yet another online presence
  • Existing social and mobile platforms don't provide the right level of focus for a business where the majority of customers live within 10-20 miles
  • Every other person that walks in the door is trying to convince business owners that offering deals is the only way to reach local customers

Along the way, as we've explored possibilities with our pilot customers, we've been busy building a platform that we believe builds on the best of what works, and relieves as much of the pain as possible for local business operators in gaining and maintaining relationships with customers.

Today, we're happy to announce the opening of the beta program for the first part of our local marketing automation suite: instant mobile websites for businesses created directly from Facebook Pages.

Facebook Page administrators can signup and immediately preview a mobile website for any page they manage.  These websites are HTML5 touch-optimized mobile sites that are ideal for smartphone platforms such as iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone 7 mobile devices.

Linking the CraveUp mobile sites to an existing domain is as easy as adding a single line of javascript to the homepage of an existing site.

We hope you'll find this an easy and powerful tool to add to your social marketing campaigns.  We would love to hear what you think in the comments section below!
